Shreshth Shah from Kolkata, AJiteshwar Singh from Delhi, Sachit Kamlesh Yadav from Mumbai and PS Sudarshan from Bangalore were selected on the basis of passion, skill and knowledge of the game amongst children who registered for the contest.

The Delhi finals featured 20 kids who were short listed by ESPN Star Sports and adidas on the basis of few rounds of skill and talent based contest. The four winners are entitled for an all expense paid two nights and three days return trip to Germany for watching one match during the FIFA World Cup.

The venue, location and date of the match shall be decided solely and exclusively by ESPN and adidas. The other details for the trip will be conveyed to the participating kids by ESPN and adidas during the contest.

Announcing the winners, Jose Ramirez Barretto, Mahindra United’s Brazilian import said at a press conference here today, “ESPN Star Sports and adidas have given these soccer crazy children an opportunity of a lifetime. As a FIFA Fair Play Flag bearer, they will get a chance to walk on the pitch with the Fair Play flag and experience the World Cup from the centre of the pitch.”

He added, “ They will also get a chance to stand with their heroes and listen to 60,000 people sing the National anthems of the participating teams. Being a footballer, I can vouch for the excitement one feels standing with their favorite stars at the centre of a football pitch.”

The winners will be flying to Germany on 20 June, 2006 and will be joined by children across the globe. The winners from India will be a part of World Cup match between Australia and Croatia on 22 June, 2006.

The contest was purely based on puritan values of the participating children who have unrelenting passion, immense knowledge and skills of the game.
