Zee launching 'Pradhan Mantri' 6 April

(Posted on 19 March, 3:30 pm)

Zee TV has announced the launch of a new serial, 'Pradhan Mantri' (prime minister) which will air on Zee TV at 10:00 pm from Friday 6 April. Each episode will be an hour long.

The series is being directed by well known filmmaker Ketan Mehta who has to his credit outstanding films like, 'Mirch Masala', 'Maya Memsahib' and 'Sardar Patel'.

According to a company press release, 'Pradhan Mantri' is neither a spoof nor an imitation of anything done in the past.

The series has been under preparation for nearly three months and is built around a fictional young prime minister who comes to power some time in the near future.

And in an art imitating life scenario, the character takes reins in the midst of a defence scandal that has destroyed the morale of the armed forces.
