Alpha Marathi to air Jaywant Dalvi's 'Purush' on Monday

Alpha Marathi believes in seeking inspiration from Marathi literature in order to woo the discerning Maharashtrian audiences. Its programme Pimpalpaan aired on Mondays during prime time is dedicated to writings of Marathi writers.

The channel has now announced that legendary writer, the late Jaywant Dalvi's path-breaking play Purush will be aired on Monday, 7 April, onwards in the 9:30 pm slot. Sayaji Shinde and Pratiksha Lonkar will star in the serial which is directed by Shrirang Godbole. The play Purush has won several awards including the prestigious state award for the best play. Alpha Marathi's Pimpalpan had earlier aired Andharachya Parambya written by Dalvi.

Pimpalpan has covered the works of renowned Marathi authors such as Vyanktesh Madgulkar (Vavtal), SN Pendse (Octopus), Manohar Talhar (Manus), Vijay Tendulkar (Kamala) and CT Khanolkar (Dushtachakra).
